Since we’re officially stuck in winter mode, I figured this is the perfect time to answer some of the most common questions I get about booking and planning a session.

What should I wear and do you help with styling?

When you book a session with me, I want you to feel comfortable, confident, and completely in your own skin. The best outfits are the ones that feel natural to you. If you’re wearing something you wouldn’t normally choose, you’ll most likely feel stiff and that shows in photos. Comfort always photographs better than trendy.

As for styling , YES! I absolutely love helping. I just don’t want to overwhelm anyone, so I jump in as much (or as little) as you’d like.

I recommend coordinating colors rather than matching exactly. Think tones that flow together instead of identical outfits. If you want hands-on help, we can totally “online shop” together. This means sending links back and forth through text and building outfits that feel cohesive and true to your family.

What happens if it rains?

If it rains, we absolutely have the option to reschedule but that doesn’t mean we have to.

I love chasing the golden sun, but those dark, moody clouds are pretty perfect. They can bring such a beautiful artistic flare to your photos. Overcast skies actually create the softest, most flattering light. And if we catch a little dramatic sky before a storm rolls in I say LETS DO IT!

We’ll always make the decision together based on comfort, safety, and the overall vibe you’re going for. Either way, you’re in good hands.

What happens when my child isn't cooperating?

Simple! we let them be kids. My sessions aren’t about stiff poses and perfect smiles. They’re built around movement, connection, and authenticity. Most children aren’t meant to sit still, so I don’t expect them to.

We’ll run. We’ll play. We’ll snuggle. We’ll explore.

Some of the most beautiful moments happen in between the “posed” ones, when your child is laughing mid-spin or hiding in your arms.

I don’t need perfection. I just need your family as they are.

In the end I want your photos to resemble you and your family the most. I can't wait to photograph your story!

Welch Family session

A real family review

"We entered our photo session with Cassandra a little nervous, but hopeful for nice family photos with 2 toddlers! She far exceeded or expectations! She was so patient and kind with our kids and they warmed right up to her. She gave us beautiful family photos we will enjoy for many years to come. Highly recommend to anyone with kids!"
